In 1981, Saucony established the signature Saucony silhouette and triangular lug footprint with the Jazz. When Suacony created the Jazz, they worked closely with podiatrists to make sure they were making a shoe that could keep runners comfortable and handle the impact of distance running. The triangular lug outsole provided traction and created a piston like suspension system that has inspired Saucony outsole design to this day.
